Clinical nutritionist Derya Hussain commented on the topic of healthy eating in the face of rising food prices in an interview with bTV Radio and the World of Health column.
In the conversation, the specialist stresses that despite inflation and the rise in the price of basic products, a balanced diet remains quite possible. She says the key is in proper planning, choosing seasonal and affordable foods, and limiting food waste.
Derya Hussain points out that often on a tighter budget people turn to cheaper but lower quality and ultra-processed foods, which can have a negative effect on long-term health.
She recommends relying on legumes, seasonal produce and frozen vegetables as practical and economical solutions to maintaining a balanced diet.
