Honey-garlic salmon

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • Juice of 1 small lemon
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper (paprika)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 170 g each)
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 lemon, cut into rounds

METHOD OF PREPARATION

  1. In a medium bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, salt, black pepper and chili flakes.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat two tablespoons of olive oil, then add the salmon fillets, skin side down.
  3. Cook the salmon for 5-6 minutes until golden brown, then turn it over.
  4. Add the garlic to the pan and fry for 1 minute. Then add the honey mixture and lemon slices to the pan. Reduce the sauce until it becomes sticky.
  5. Pour the sauce over the salmon.
  6. Garnish with lemon slices if desired and serve.

Note: Refrigerate for up to 5 days in an airtight container.
