1. Can I cancel my class?
If you wish to cancel your appointment, the platform will allow you to do so 72 hours before your booked appointment.
If you are not able to fit in this period and fail to attend the scheduled appointment, you need to pay 60% of the consultation amount, the other 40% you will get back.
2. How do I make an appointment?
Appointments for a primary dietetic examination can be made through the website and the "Book an appointment" service.
3. What is a primary consultation?
The primary dietetic consultation lasts 60min/90min. It includes a discussion of your anthropometric measures (e.g. height, weight) and calculation of your body mass index (BMI), your food diary (portions, food types, eating patterns, preferred cooking methods, food access, etc.), your past and current medical history, family history, current laboratory tests (if applicable), environmental factors, and your social life. SMART goals will be established that focus on specific, measurable, accurate, realistic and timely goals. At the end of this consultation, we will work with you to create an action plan tailored to your specific needs and desires.
4. What happens after I book an appointment for an online consultation?
After successfully booking and paying for your appointment, you will receive a confirmation email as well as information about your consultation. It will also include a link to your appointment, which will take place via the Zoom online platform.
5. Can you take a look at my lab tests?
Yes, of course. Book an appointment for an online consultation. Tests should always be interpreted in relation to a person's specific complaints and individual characteristics, otherwise they are nothing more than a laboratory indicator.
6. Can I get a dietary guide/regimen without a primary consultation?
A dietary guide/regimen can only be prepared after a consultation so that it can be tailored to you and your health condition.
7. Does the price of the consultation include the preparation of a diet plan?
No, the preparation of a diet is a separate option that is discussed during the consultation with the Dietitian. After the consultation you will receive more information about the preparation of a diet, the cost depends on the specific medical condition. It can be between 280 and 420lv (143,16 - 214,74 EUR).
8. Do you work with patients outside Bulgaria and Scotland?
Yes, online consultations allow me to help people from different countries.
9. Where do the consultations take place?
At this stage, the consultations that Derya Hussain conducts are online only.
10. Do you work with referrals for Bulgaria?
No. As Deraa Hussain is based in Scotland, it is not contracted to the NHS at this stage and does not screen with referrals.
11. What is the food guide/plan?
The nutrition guide is tailored to your individual needs and health condition. During your primary dietetic consultation, you will have time to discuss the details of building a diet with your Dietitian. Your diet will be based on the information you shared during your consultation, a food diary and an additional questionnaire you completed.
12. Do I need to prepare anything before our primary consultation?
No advance preparation is required, but if you have tests and/or outpatient lists that you would like the Dietitian to review, it would be a good idea to have them prepared in digital format.
13. How is the delivery of the physical items from the Shop?
Delivery is made via Speedy and is paid for separately on receipt of your parcel. Delivery takes 1-3 working days.
