Derya Hyusein

Derya Hyusein RD, MSc, CertHE, DipHE, BSc is a Registered Dietitian (HCPC) with experience in both acute and community settings. Her special interests are weight management, diabetes, oncology and health promotion. She is a member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) and Parental Nutrition Association (PEN). She pursued her Master's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at Robert Gordon University in Scotland (Aberdeen).  Practiced her speciality as a Dietetic Intern in multiple hospitals in Glasgow and in one of the largest hospitals in Europe - Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH). 

Her experience includes giving individualized dietary advice for patients with moderate to severe obesity, type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, pancreatitis, IBS, ulcerative colitis and enteritis, alcoholic and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, various food intolerances, autoimmune diseases, coeliac disease, pre-and post-op patients, and many other conditions.  Consulted patients on parenteral and enteral nutrition in complex neurological, oncological, and surgical cases during her internships.

Areas of expertise: 

Derya Hyusein received training to work with NUTRICIA and Abbott Laboratories for parenteral and enteral nutrition. Completed a monitoring course for LIBRE A5X in patients with diabetes, EETAS training for patients with eating disorders, as well as advanced training in different areas organized by the British Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (BAPEN). 

Derya Hyusein has also been conducting courses on healthy eating, and health promotion, as well as educational training for patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. She is also an experienced nutrition coach who has helped thousands of clients to improve their health through nutrition and lifestyle changes.  D. Hyusein puts patient-centered approach and continuous professional development in the core of her practice.
